MONOSAN®, the brand name of Sanbio B.V. is a product line with commercially available antibodies and established in 1978. MONOSAN® contains over 1500 monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies and reagents which are being developed and commercialized either in our own laboratories or in collaboration with some of the leading universities and research institutes throughout Europe.
Additionally to the regular range MONOSAN® offers MONOSAN® Xtra, MONOSAN® Ready-to-Use and MONOSAN® Reagents.
MONOSAN® Xtra

- Cluster Differentiation Markers
- Cytokeratins
- Cytotoxic Drug Metabolism
- Growth Factors and Receptors
- Hormone Receptors and Estrogen Regulated Proteins
- Hormones
- In Situ Hybridisation
- Lymphoid Markers
- Microbiology/Virology
- Muscles
- Neuroscience
- Oncoproteins
- Oncosuppressor and Associated Proteins
- Small and Intermediate Filaments
- Special Interest
- Tumour Markers
MONOSAN® Ready-to-Use
To reduce histopathology workflows and eliminating the variability of immunostaining, MONOSAN® designed a prediluted antibody line named MONOSAN® Ready-to-Use. This RTU line contains more than 200 new antibody products for immunohistochemical (IHC) use on frozen and FFPE tissue sections. The 7ml. and 15ml monoclonals (rabbit and mouse) and polyclonals are applicable for fully automated IHC systems and manual use.
MONOSAN® Reagents
Applications for immunohistochemistry.
Next to the regular antibody products, MONOSAN® offers MONOSAN Reagents. This product line contains a huge portfolio of detection systems for immunohistochemistry purposes like MONOSAN® Plus (AP) Polymer Kits and MONOSAN® (HRP) Broad Spectrum Kits. The MONOSAN® Reagents detection kits are designed for the qualitative detection of antigens in fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, in frozen tissue sections, and in cytological samples. (The kits are developed for use in combination with mono- and polyclonal primary antibodies and sera obtained from mouse, rabbit, rat, and guinea pig.)
Beside the new detection systems MONOSAN® Reagents is offering you comprehensive accessories for the Immunohistochemistry:
MONOSAN® Antibody Diluent is developed for dilution of primary antibodies. Antibodies diluted with Antibody Diluent are primarily used in immunohistochemistry with formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections, but also with frozen, HOPE-fixed, and cytological samples as well as in immunoblot procedures.

Chromogens and Substrates
MONOSAN® Permanent AEC Kit is intended for immunohistochemical and in situ-hybridisation staining procedures with horse radish peroxidase (HRP). AEC (3-Amino-9-ethylcarbazol) leads to the formation of a red-brown precipitate at the location of the target antigen or target nucleic acid. The precipitate is insoluble in aqueous mounting media and can be observed by light microscopy.

Pre-treatment solutions
MONOSAN® Fast Enzyme is a ready-to-use solution developed for enzymatic epitope retrieval on formalin-fixed tissue sections on slides. This procedure (sometimes called PIER, Protease Induced Epitope Retrieval) is used in immunohistochemical staining procedures and prior to in situ hybridisations.
The blocking solution MONOSAN® Peroxide Block is intended for inhibition of endogenous peroxidase activity in tissue sections. It is primarily intended to be used in immunohistochemistry on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples if using a detection system with horse radish peroxidase.
MONOSAN® HIER EDTA Buffer pH 8.0 is a solution developed for heat induced epitope retrieval (HIER) in formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections on slides. This procedure is primarily used in immunohistochemistry.
