Ligand for the GFR-alpha-3-RET receptor complex but can also activate the GFR-alpha-1-RET receptor complex. Supports the survival of sensory and sympathetic peripheral neurons in culture and also supports the survival of dopaminergic neurons of the ventral mid-brain. (www.uniprot.org) Produced in E.coli. Disulfide-linked homodimer, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 2 x 113 amino acids. The ED50, calculated by the dose-dependant proliferation assay SH-SY5Y cell line which was found to be 4-8ng/ml.
